is a post-apocalyptic thriller set in a world where the human population has been nearly wiped out and the nights are ruled by mysterious and savage creatures. The movie focuses on Paul (played by Nicolas Cage) and his two teenage sons, Thomas and Joseph, who live in isolation on a remote farmhouse. For years, they have managed to establish a strict survival routine: living and working during the day, and taking refuge inside their heavily fortified home every night when the creatures emerge to hunt. Their lives are characterized by constant vigilance and an attempt to maintain a semblance of civilization amidst the ruin. The fragile balance of their lives is jeopardized when Thomas, the more adventurous and slightly rebellious son, is late returning home at dusk after visiting a girl in a neighboring settlement. His delay forces Paul into a perilous rescue attempt, which results in Paul being severely injured. With Paul incapacitated, Thomas and Joseph are forced to take on the responsibility of protecting themselves and their father from the escalating nocturnal threat. This situation deepens the existing tension between the two brothers, who have vastly different personalities. As Thomas and Joseph struggle to find medical aid for their father, the threat from the creatures becomes increasingly intense and focused on their home. They must not only face physical danger but also navigate moral dilemmas and personal conflicts in their efforts to survive and protect their small family unit.
