Lift Movie Story

is an action-comedy heist movie centered on Cyrus Whitaker (played by Kevin Hart), a renowned international art thief, and his expert crew who specialize in high-stakes robberies. Although they are criminals, Cyrus and his team operate with a certain moral code, only stealing from those who "do not deserve" to possess expensive art. However, after executing a daring heist, Cyrus and his crew are apprehended by the determined Interpol agent, Abby Gladwell—who also happens to be Cyrus's ex-girlfriend.

Instead of being sent to prison, Cyrus and his crew are forced to collaborate with Interpol on an almost impossible mission to prevent a global catastrophe. Their target is Lars Jorgensen, a villainous billionaire planning to use a half-billion dollars worth of gold bullion to fund a massive global terrorist attack that will cause widespread devastation, from which he intends to profit. The mission requires them to steal the gold while it is being transported on a commercial passenger flight—at an altitude of 40,000 feet.



In a highly ingenious and extremely risky heist, Cyrus and his team—including a pilot, a hacker, and a safecracker—plan to manipulate the plane mid-air, evade radar detection, and infiltrate the cargo hold. Amidst a tense flight, they must overcome unexpected security personnel and Jorgensen’s intricate counter-plans, all while managing the awkward romantic dynamics between Cyrus and Abby. The film blends thriller tension with Kevin Hart’s signature humor as they strive to become reluctant heroes to save the world and earn their freedom.
