Madame Web Movie Story
introduces Cassandra "Cassie" Webb (Dakota Johnson), an emotionally detached paramedic working in Manhattan in 2003. Her ordinary life is abruptly turned upside down after a near-death experience while on the job. The accident awakens her dormant psychic abilities: the power of clairvoyance, allowing her to see fragmented and confusing glimpses of the future. Initially resistant to her new powers, Cassie is forced to confront her destiny when she has a vision of three young women being murdered.The three fated teenagers are Julia Cornwall, Anya Corazón, and Mattie Franklin, who are unaware that they possess the potential to become future spider-powered superheroes. They are being brutally hunted by Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim), a mysterious villain who also gained spider-like abilities years ago from the same spiders linked to Cassie's past. Ezekiel, who can also see the future, is obsessed with killing the three girls because he has seen visions of them eventually teaming up to kill him.
Cassie, the girls' reluctant protector and only hope, must learn to harness her unpredictable precognitive abilities to thwart Ezekiel's plan. During a tense and action-packed chase across New York, Cassie is forced to confront her own past, which is linked to her mother's death and Ezekiel. The film serves as a convoluted origin story where Cassie gradually accepts her role as a protector and mentor, guiding the three teenagers toward their destiny as Spider-Women while averting a dreadful "Spider-Era.
