Inside Out 2 Movie Story
This disruption arrives in the form of uninvited guests: a team of complex, new emotions that have never been there before. The first emotion to appear is Anxiety, who is quickly followed by other teenage emotions such as Envy, Ennui (Boredom), and Embarrassment. These new emotions, particularly Anxiety, quickly seize control of the Headquarters with a new vision for how Riley should live her life, sparking major chaos and banishing the old core emotions to the far reaches of Riley's mind.
The original emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—must now embark on an epic journey through the drastically altered landscape of Riley's mind to try and reclaim control and ensure that Riley remains true to herself, especially as she faces the major challenges of entering high school and trying out for the school's hockey team. The film explores the teenage struggle for self-identity amidst the overwhelming influx of new emotions, teaching acceptance of emotional complexity, and how all emotions, both old and new, play a crucial role in forming a complete "Sense of Self.
