Wake Movie Story

centers on Lake Reed, a struggling young actress who is desperate to land the leading role in the upcoming remake of a classic movie also titled "Wake." Realizing her chances of wowing the producers are slim, Lake takes a drastic and unconventional step. She tracks down and breaks into the home of the original film's star, Corin Abel, who now lives as a mysterious recluse confined to a wheelchair. Posing as a reporter, Lake manages to convince Corin to grant her an interview, though Corin quickly sees through Lake's true intentions. Once Lake’s cover is blown, she is forced to admit the real reason for her visit: she pleads with Corin to use her influence and call the studio to secure the part. Corin responds to the plea with a different proposition. Corin offers to personally coach Lake using her own intense acting methods, promising that the training will give Lake the edge she needs to win the role. Lake accepts the offer, which requires her to "reach deep inside," find her darkest moment, and harness her deepest fears and emotions to bring extra life to her theatrical performance. However, as the training sessions progress, the meeting quickly devolves into a terrifying nightmare. Lake begins to suspect that sinister occurrences are taking place in the secluded house, a suspicion reinforced by strange discoveries. She finds evidence that a missing writer had visited Corin shortly before her mysterious disappearance, leading Lake to believe that Corin is harboring dark secrets far more sinister than intense acting methods. Lake must fight for her survival, endure intense psychological pressure, and uncover the truth behind Corin’s horrifying recipe for a perfect performance.
