Meg is a seemingly normal mother and schoolteacher, while Noah is an underemployed writer and stoner. Their return to their childhood home quickly devolves from a tense family affair into an unexpected nightmare when they discover something grim in their parents' basement: a long-buried corpse hidden behind a wall.
The discovery of the skeletal remains, which they quickly identify as a neighbor who vanished years ago, forces Meg and Noah to confront the shocking dark secret their parents had kept. With their mother incapacitated and unable to explain, and their father already deceased, the clumsy siblings decide to cover up the crime to protect the family name and their own precarious adult lives.
